Alaves prepares its goalkeeping for the season

Alavés has started preseason with four goalkeepers: Antonio Sivera, Jesús Owono, Adrián Rodríguez and Grégoire Swiderski. However, the situation of each of them is different. The captain Sivera will continue to be the number one goalkeeper, but the continuity of Owono and Adrián is uncertain.

Who will leave and how?

The sports management of Alavés wants to have a goalkeeper with guarantees who will press the captain in the daily routine and who will be an alternative if he suffers any mishap. Therefore, they are evaluating what steps to take with Owono and Adrián before taking a definitive decision. Owono, who has awakened interest in the market, especially in an Italian Serie A club, and in Segunda División, could be the one to leave the club.

The situation of Owono and Adrián

Owono, who has a contract until 2029, has been one of the most outstanding goalkeepers in the category in which he was loaned in Andorra. At 25 years old, the young Alavés player has a market and is prepared to be a starter. However, the club is moving cautiously and wants to have a goalkeeper with guarantees. Adrián, who is also 25 years old and whose contract ends in 2027, is another of the goalkeepers who could leave the club.

Alavés preseason

Alavés has started preseason with a friendly match against Eibar in Laguardia, in which Owono was the starting goalkeeper. In the next preparation match against Girona, Sánchez Flores will determine which of his four goalkeepers will play. The plan of the club is that, at least, one of the two will accompany Sivera and that Swiderski, with a link until 2027, will continue in the dynamic of the first team before making the definitive jump.
