Alaves is close to signing Nicolás Valentini, Fiorentina defender, in a two million euro deal. Both clubs have reached an agreement for the defender to join Mendizorroza on a permanent transfer, ruling out the possibility of a loan. The press close to Fiorentina estimates the operation to be between two and three million euros. Valentini would have accepted the proposal after rejecting a move to Grêmio, while Sheffield United also showed interest. The 25-year-old player has a contract with Fiorentina until June 2029. Formed in Boca Juniors and with experience in Aldosivi, the left-footed central defender arrived in Florence in January 2025, but did not play any official games with Fiorentina. His minutes in Italy were accumulated during two loan spells in Hellas Verona. Alaves would add a 1.87-meter-tall defense, powerful in duels and capable of acting in the left profile of the defense of Quique Sánchez Flores. Alaves finished the last season in 17th place in the League, with 33 points and a goal difference of -11. The next season, Alaves will seek to improve its position in the League, and the signing of Valentini could be an important step in that direction.
